Our 15-day Mountain Roads has proved our most popular tour of the Canadian Rockies. The route is designed to take you over the most scenic mountain roads of Western Canada. Depart from Vancouver and head east to the warm wine regions of the interior. Continue on via Revelstoke, the spectacular Kootenay Lake and across the continental divide to Banff. Then discover the natural beauty and wildlife of the majestic Rocky Mountains, Yoho and Jasper National Parks. Visit the tumbling falls in Wells Gray Park and cross the rugged Coast Mountains to Whistler and scenic and vibrant Vancouver. Stay in cosy lodges, guest ranches and hotels, and enjoy the true hospitality of the West in an unforgettable two weeks.

Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrive Vancouver. We will transfer you by private limousine to our tour hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to explore the city highlights. Ramada Inn Downtown.. CAN-MountainRoads

DAY 2 Vancouver - Manning Park (220 km). After collecting your motorcycle you head east to ride along the Fraser River delta to historic Fort Langley. Visit the Othello Tunnels in Hope, where Sylvester Stallone filmed First Blood, and ascend into the forested Cascade Mountains. Manning Park Resort.

DAY 3 Manning Park - Revelstoke (470 km). More sweeping curves bring you alongside the Similkameen River and into the warm Okanagan Valley, famous for its sandy beaches, warm lakes, fruit orchards and wineries. ride north to the Shuswap Lakes, visit the beach in Sicamous, and then ride through the Monashee Mountains to the historic Last Spike, where the Trans-Canadian railroad was completed in 1885. DAY 4 Revelstoke (50 km). Free day. Start with a scenic 26-km ride to the top of Mt Revelstoke National Park, and explore the glaciers, mountain roads and cedar forests of Glacier National Park. You can also go canoeing, hiking or flightseeing (optional). Glacier House Resort.

DAY 5 Revelstoke - Creston (380 km). Without a doubt the best day's riding, along quiet mountain roads through spectacular scenery and past the many lakes of the West Kootenays. Ferry crossings, natural hot springs, historic towns and a ghost town are to be enjoyed before arriving in Creston. Mountain View Inn.

DAY 6 Creston - Banff (375 km). With an early start you may see bears, deer and eagles in the trench between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains. Visit historic Fort Steele and cross the continental divide. See the Indian Paint Pots and Marble Canyon in Kootenay National Park. High Country Inn.

DAY 7 Banff (100 km). Free day. Banff offers plenty of options. You can explore Lake Minnewanka, the Hoodoos and Bow Falls. Take the gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain and soak in the hot springs. Or try your hand at horse riding, canoeing, hiking or mountain biking, perhaps finishing off the day with a tasty western dinner at Wild Bill's. There’s time this morning to explore the area by foot, or an early start will see you in Canmore comfortably by lunchtime, giving you the rest of the day to wander around the town. High Country Inn.

DAY 8 Banff – Jasper (160 km). Today you ride what many consider to be one of the world's most scenic highways, the Icefields Parkway, flanked by snow-capped peaks, alpine lakes and forested valleys. See the Crowfoot Glacier and famous Peyto Lake, marvel at the azure blue waters of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, cross the Bow and Sunwapta Passes on your way to the Columbia Icefields and two night's stay in Jasper. DAY 9 Jasper (50 km). Free day. A full day to explore the Rockies and Jasper. We include a 90-minute lake cruise in our itinerary, which will give you plenty of time take the mountain road to Mount Edith Cavell, hike the Maligne Canyon, or have lunch on top of Whistler Mountain. Whistler’s Inn.

DAY 10 Jasper - Clearwater (360 km). The Yellowhead Highway takes you to the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson. Then through the Caribou Mountains to Clearwater and Wells Gray Park, where you will visit the cascading Dawson and Helmcken Falls. Dutch Lake Motel.

DAY 11 Clearwater (100 km). Free day, A chance to explore the magnificent Wells Gray Park, set in the heart of the Rockies. You can just feel the solitude! Dutch Lake Motel.

DAY 12 Clearwater - Whistler (350 km). On through the Caribou and its many fishing lakes before picking up the Goldrush Trail to the Coast Mountains, with 2 hours riding round mountain curves and through great scenery to the ski and summer resort of Whistler. Crystal Lodge.

DAY 13 Whistler - Vancouver (140 km). Ride the scenic Sea to Sky Highway along the Pacific Ocean to Vancouver. Visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge before heading into Vancouver. Visit Stanley Park, Chinatown, Granville Island, Gastown and of course famous Robson St. Sylvia Hotel.

DAY 14 Vancouver (50 km). Free day. Do some city sightseeing, take the ferry to Vancouver Island and visit Victoria with its historic buildings, Fisgard lighthouse, or go whale watching on the protected Pacific coastline. Sylvia Hotel.

DAY 15 Depart Vancouver. Return your motorcycle this morning. We give you a free trolley pass as there’s probably still time today for more sightseeing before your flight home.
