Our ‘specials’ are a great way to get a great deal on your US motorcycle holiday. However, to make your holiday a success, they must match your plans or expectations exactly. For example, please do not book a ‘See America’ special if you require a specific motorcycle model – you will get what needs to be moved, not necessarily what you have requested – or if you are uncomfortable with any of the other restrictions that apply. They are only great value if you are happy to work to our requirements.

Daily rates are all-inclusive except as indicated in the table.

Rates do not apply with any other discounts/offers, and rally surcharges still apply.

Our all-inclusive rate is an exclusive, prepayable rate which includes any and all taxes, the highest levels of motorcycle insurance cover available ANYWHERE and unlimited mileage. You can then rest assured that you will have no further charges to pay locally. And please remember we guarantee to offer you the lowest price, so do give us a call!

If you don’t wish to prepay for all of the optional and compulsory extras that we include, we will be happy to book your motorcycle at our basic rate. Rates start from as little as £16/day, and you can then pay separately for: unlimited mileage or some other mileage option, all optional insurances, taxes and our environmental charge. However, this is NOT as cheap as prepaying our all-inclusive rate!

Pick-up. For safety reasons you are not allowed to collect you motorcycle until the day after your arrival in North America. H-C Travel is able to offer suitable first night accommodation if required (and US Homeland Security will not allow you to fly to the USA without an accommodation address!).

Intercoms. We do not provide intercoms or intercom adaptors – if they malfunction or get damaged everyone gets upset! Electraglides, Goldwings and R1200RTs have factory sockets and you are welcome to bring your own intercom and adaptor. However, we DO NOT guarantee that you will be able to run your intercom on our rental motorcycles and accept no liability for their non- or malfunction. If an intercom is an essential part of your touring, and we quite appreciate why that might be, then please bring your own independently powered set.

Satnav. We offer Garmin Zumo 550 satnav with all rentals for an additional charge. These can also be preprogrammed with our self-guided tour itineraries. If you wish to take your own satnav that is not a problem, but is entirely at your own risk.

Luggage. We provide factory luggage where issued by the manufacturer. For Heritage Softails, Road Kings and Road Glides luggage racks and passenger backrests are also included. For motorcycles with no factory luggage we provide aftermarket throwover panniers.

Motorcycle insurance

US insurance regulations are a common cause for confusion, often varying from state to state. This is a quick summary of what's what in US vehicle insurance. H-C Travel's all-inclusive prices include SLI, CDW and theft insurance with low excesses. We are always happy to advise you on this subject, and will adjust your insurance cover to suit your wishes!

Please beware, you may come across companies offering lower prices – the trade off is that you won’t have adequate motorcycle insurance. Always compare the excess, the theft insurance AND the liability cover for you as the rider, and you’ll appreciate just how good our insurance cover is. In some US states the renter has NO responsibility to offer liability insurance, which makes the price look good, but if you have an accident could cost you dear! We cannot emphasise enough the risk, American lawyers are expensive.

Liability insurance - Third Party Cover in English. Most US companies offer 'minimum liability' cover for you, and have their own product liability insurance to cover themselves, but NOT you. However, minimum liability can be as little as nothing, and rarely exceeds $50,000, depending on which state you are in - and you won't be told this unless you ask!

SLI - Supplementary Liability Insurance. Over 99% of our customers feel more comfortable with the inclusion of additional liability cover, often called liability top-up, so we include $1 million cover in our all-inclusive rate.

CDW - Collision Damage Waiver. This offers you cover for the repair cost to your vehicle in the event of a collision on a public road. For motorcycle hire the ‘deductible’ - the ‘excess’ in English - can be as high as $5000, and we offer you Enhanced VIP insurance, which will dramatically reduce your excess to $1000. CDW does not include theft insurance - see below. Any 'negligent damage' is the full responsibility of the rider. This includes damage caused during off-highway use or during use proscribed by the rental agreement.

LDW - Loss Damage Waiver - is similar to CDW except that it also includes theft insurance.

Theft insurance is often treated as a separate item. It is not a part of CDW, and you must make sure you take it out if you want it. It is included as part of our enhanced VIP cover.

EVIP – Enhanced Vacation Interruption Protection. Offers theft insurance, a reduced damage excess of $1000, breakdown protection (covers you to hire a car or take extra night's accommodation in the event of a breakdown) and flat tyre cover. Always included in our rental rates.

Travel insurance - is NOT included in any motorcycle rental in the USA. You MUST have a suitable travel insurance policy that includes medical and repatriation cover should you be unfortunate enough to have an accident. Nearly all widely available travel insurance policies in the UK EXCLUDE motorcycling. We can of course help and have our own travel insurance policy underwritten specifically for our customers. www.bikerstravelisnurance.co.uk

Public Holidays

Rental stations are closed for US public holidays in 2011: 01 Jan, 24 Apr, 30 May, 04 Jul, 05 Sep, 24 Nov, 25 Dec.

Groups

We are more than happy to cater for groups of any size. Indeed, we offer a 5% rental discount if you book 5 or more motorcycles at the same time.

How to book in 6 easy steps
Select your required pick-up and drop-off locations.
Select your first and second choice of motorcycle model.
Select your rental dates – rentals typically start at 9-10 am and finish at 9-10 am unless you specify otherwise. You cannot pick up your motorcycle on the day you arrive in the USA.
Check which season rate applies. The STARTING date of your motorcycle hire dictates the rate for the whole duration.
Book online, by email or by phone with just a £250 deposit – all reservations made at least 2 months prior to pick up are guaranteed. Reservations made less than 2 months before pick up are on request.
 

Ask H-C Travel to check for best available flight prices (do NOT book your flights before we have confirmed your motorcycle – there are more seats on planes than bikes for hire and we do run out!), and pre- and/or post-tour accommodation.
